Cristiano Ronaldo has said that the Saudi Pro League is one of the top five leagues in the world right now. The Portuguese star made the comments after signing a new two-year contract with Pro League club Al Nasr.

Al Nasr announced on Thursday that Ronaldo had extended his contract with the club for another two years, a deal that will see him stay at the club until he is 42.

In a video message, Ronaldo said, "We are still improving. But I believe that at the moment the Saudi Pro League is among the top five leagues in the world. I believe that we will improve further and the last two years have shown that the league is constantly improving."

The Portuguese star added, "I am happy. Because I know that this league is very competitive. Only those who have never played in Saudi Arabia say that this league is not in the top five. They do not understand anything about football. I believe in what I say 100 percent. And those who play in this league know what I am talking about."

Ronaldo welcomed Saudi Arabia as the host of the 2034 FIFA World Cup and commented that this is also why he is staying in Saudi Arabia.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner said, "This is why I want to stay — because I believe in this project. Not just for the next two years but until 2034, when the World Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia. I believe that will be the most beautiful World Cup in history.’

The Portugal captain also said that his goal is to win a big trophy for Al Nasr. It is worth noting that he has not yet won a major title since joining the club in late 2022.

Ronaldo also said, ‘My goal is to win something important for Al Nasr. I still believe that it is possible. That is why I have signed for another two years. Because I believe that I will be the champion in Saudi Arabia.’

Ronaldo has scored 93 goals in 105 matches for Al Nasr since leaving Manchester United. The star, who is running towards the milestone of 1000 goals in his career, has so far scored 932 goals, including 794 in club football and 138 for Portugal.
