WhatsApp has become an important medium for daily communication through digital means. This social media app owned by Meta regularly comes up with new updates. New features are added to WhatsApp through new updates. The purpose of the update is one, to make the app more user-friendly. With this aim, WhatsApp is going to bring the 'threaded message reply' or message reply threads feature.

WhatsApp Beta Info, a trusted source of news related to WhatsApp updates, has identified the presence of the ‘threaded message reply’ feature in the latest Android beta update of WhatsApp (version 2.25.7.7). What are the benefits of this new feature?

Benefits of the ‘threaded message reply’ or message reply threads feature

Currently, when multiple replies to a particular message arrive on WhatsApp, the message replies are messy. That is, the replies are not organized in one place as seen on Facebook, another platform of Meta. As a result, to see all the replies to the same message on WhatsApp, you have to scroll up and down the app’s interface repeatedly. This is undoubtedly annoying, and the task is also challenging if the number of replies is very large.

WhatsApp is working on a solution to this problem with the message reply threads feature. With the help of this feature, all replies to a specific message will be limited to a thread. As a result, users will easily find all the replies to a specific message in one place. That is, from now on, you will no longer have to scroll down and find the scattered replies among different messages, all the replies will be seen in one thread.

The thread will start from the original message and the replies will be posted one by one under the original message. However, other messages from users without replies will continue to be posted normally, as it is now. That is, messages other than replies will be posted outside the thread. It is to be noted that no matter how late a reply to a message is posted, the reply will be visible only in the thread of the specific message.

WhatsApp is going to bring the message threads feature to personal conversations, group chats, communities and channels. However, WhatsApp has not yet brought the opportunity to reply to messages in channels, the feature is currently under process.

WhatsApp has brought this new message threads feature to the beta version for now. They are preparing to make the feature available to all users. Once the preparations are complete, the popular instant messaging app will release the feature to all users in a new updated version.

A preview screenshot of the message threads feature from the beta version was recently (March 13) published by WhatsApp Beta Info. The published screenshot gives an idea of what the feature will look like. It shows that in a group chat (group discussion), multiple users have replied to a specific message and the replies are all posted one after the other in the form of threads. When users tap on the original message, they will see all the replies under it in a thread. That is, the replies will be seen in a chain in a structured manner.

WhatsApp has not yet said when the ‘threaded message replies’ feature will be available to all users. However, it can be estimated that the feature will be available to 3 billion WhatsApp users soon. This much-awaited new feature is expected to bring a major positive change in the WhatsApp experience.
